Talin Barisani-Asenbauer is a graduate of the Medical University of Vienna. Her area of expertise is in the diagnosis and therapy of ocular manifestations of systemic diseases. In particular she treats patients with the following: M. Bechterew, M. Crohn, M. Reiter, colitis ulcerosa, Sjögren Syndrome, toxoplasmosis, herpes associated eyes diseases, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, M. Behcet, masquerading syndroms (inflammation with tumor patients), parasitic infections, tropical diseases, multiple sclerosis (uveitis) and sarcoidosis.
She also treats typical ophthalmologic diseases such as: dry eye syndrome, inflammation of the sclera (scleritis), inflammation of the cornea (keratitis), intraocular inflammations and infections (anterior, intermediate and posterior uveitis), retinal and choroidal inflammation (retinitis, choroiditis).
She is a physician at the Medical University of Vienna, Department of Ophthalmology and the Secretary General of the IOIS (Inter-national Ocular Inflammation Society). She is also the Austrian delegate to the EBO (European Board of Ophthalmology) and to the Union of Ophthalmology to the UEMS (Union Europenne des Medecins Specialistes). She is the delegate of the Subspecialty of Ophthalmology for the Multidisciplinary Joint Committee for Immune Mediated Diseases and chairperson of the Commission for International Ophthalmology (KIO) of the Austrian Ophthalmological Society.
